RENTAL WOES

So tonsillitis has me couch bound again this week and I have spent most of the last 3 days looking for a new place to live.

I HATE renting. HATE IT.

a) people just have terrible taste and paint walls stupid colours that I then have to live with
b) my income doesn't match what I like
c) people hate pets

Can someone just give me some property and let me build my container house? Life needs a money cheat like on the Sims.
Not. Even. Joking.
Bleugh.

What makes it worse is how much I enjoy architecture and interiors and I need to be in a beautiful environment otherwise depresso Lana emerges and that's not fun for anyone.

I'll leave you with some pictures that I am cheering myself up with.

Big love
x

PAST PRESENT

So I may be a little biased but this brand is something pretty special. And the brains behind it live in a pretty good looking head…

Started by my partner Jeremy, Past Present is a Perth based hat label that is due to launch late May. Focusing on premium fabrics and attention to detail, Past Present is all about bringing that dapper gentleman back into the modern man’s attire.
Think about it, all those photos of your grandpa, hair slicked back, pressed trousers, nice button up; getting dressed back then was a process. There was a lot of thought that went into it and the men looked so put together .
A hat was the final flourish, often the statement piece. It helped define an outfit, and to some degree, the person wearing it. This is what Jeremy is passionate about and what the essence of Past Present is.

It's not just all for the guys though, the range will also include some wide brims and they are perfect for us ladies!
Jez was good enough to tolerate my usual pesky questions:
Favourite city: New York hands down.

Breakfast of choice: Spiced beef benedict with harissa hollandaise on ciabatta toast

Favourite Brand: Probably A.P.C (if only I could afford it all)

Describe your perfect day: Exploring NY or San Fran. Or realistically, wake up early/ish, take Lola down to the beach, then out to brunch with my girls, relaxing arvo (bit of inspo lurking) then try a new dinner spot around town with Lana.

Most visited website: theclassyissue.com orneedsupply.com. Maybe a wholesale fabric website in there too.

Favourite wardrobe item at the moment: New classic white sneakers or brown brogues.

Favourite quote: "Do well, live well, dress really well" - Someone at levi's

Can’t live without:.Lana and Lola. Lots of shoes.

"EVERYTHING

..you want is coming. Relax and let the universe pick up the timing and the way. You just need to trust that what you want is coming, and watch how fast it comes."
- Abraham Hicks

The power of a positive mind is ridiculous. Set your mind on it and it's yours. If I think about everything that I have truly, really wanted, I have gotten them all.

I start a new adventure at a new job on Monday. I believed that I had it before I did and I got it.

Imagine the life you want and bring it into reality.

It's derby day in WA so I need to go. Happy Sunday lovers! Enjoy some snaps from my weekend xx

FOX AND RABBIT

CELEBRATING FRIDAY WITH BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS YAY!

It's no secret that I am in love with petals and blooms. One of my favourite Perth floral creatives is Rebecca from Fox and Rabbit. Her hands are magic and her work speaks for itself.

She was lovely enough to answer some of my typical Q&A's. If you haven't checked her out yet, do yourself a favour and go go go!

Favourite city:
Perth! Can I say that??

Breakfast of choice:
Breakfast for dinner is my favourite meal. Dish me up a big vegetarian breakfast with spinach, corn fritters, mushrooms, eggs, tomatoes, a cheeky hashbrown and I’m a happy lady!

Your ultimate splurge:
I WANT ALL THE CLOTHES! The truth is that I spend more money on vases and ribbons than I do on myself - but seriously all.the.clothes.

Favourite Flower:
With each season come gorgeous new blooms that I may not have seen for months and I get weak at the knees for them all over again. Some old faithful’s include: Peony, Hellebore, Hydrangea, Garden Roses, Dahlia. I’m also giddy over verigated foliage’s and anything textured or different like berries, nuts and pods.

Nature is a wild and wonderful dreamboat with so much to offer! How can you possibly pick just one?

Most visited website:

My top 5 in no particular order:

1. The Seasonal Bouquet

2. Sarah Winward – Honey of a Thousand Flowers

3. Mckenzie Powell Designs

4. Tulipina Floral Design

5. Saipua

Favourite wardrobe item at the moment:
My Hunter Boots! I got them for Christmas and now can FINALLY wear them after such a long summer.

Favourite quote:
Every Flower must grow through Dirt’ – Anonymous. I love this quote because “OMG that’s so true!” but also because its soooo true...

Can’t live without:
My husband Daniel. He keeps me sane and grounded. I like to do EVERYTHING and he helps me to slow down, unwind, take breaks and chill out. I’d be burnt out and disgruntled without him. He’s also super creative, as he owns a letterpress business called Type Hype. Doing your own thing is flipping hard work and he inspires me to challenge myself and think outside the box. It’s wonderful living life by his side – and he’s a little bit cute too!
